Benjamin Moore's 2019 Color of the Year - Metropolitan (AF-690)
Benjamin Moore’s highly anticipated 2019 color of the year has been revealed, and the winner is Metropolitan AF-690. This elegant gray carries cool undertones which are both calm and serene. Ellen O'Neill, Benjamin Moore's Director of Strategic Design Intelligence, states that Metropolitan AF-690 is comforting, composed, and effortlessly sophisticated.
This cool gray represents a state of mind which is contemplative, soothing, impactful, and non-aggressive. It makes a subtle statement.
Metropolitan AF-690 is a far cry from 2018’s color of the year: Caliente, a fiery, fierce red. While last year's color reflected the passion and voices which were speaking up all around the world at the time, this year’s color reflects a more subdued, calm chaos.
In addition to the 2019 color of the year, Benjamin Moore has also released a new palette of hues which circ7e around Metropolitan AF-690. The collection of colors, called Color Trends 2019, range from neutral gray colors to rich colors like blue and green — all of which work in combination with Metropolitan.
